Layers I wore during nights:
1 pair of rain boots
3 pairs of socks (because more didn't fit inside the boots)
1 pair thermal underpants
1 pair of sports pants
1 pair of ski pants
1 pair of waterproof pants
1 thermal undershirt
1 cotton shirt
1 woolen turtleneck pullover
1 fleece jacket w/ hoodie
1 waterproof jacket w/ hoodie
1 pair of neoprene gloves
1 fleece neckwarmer
1 woolen neckwarmer
1 earwarmer
1 woolen hat
hoodies of the jackets
Even with all that it took only one hour on deck at night for me to become cold and to need another whole hour below deck wrapped under blankets to get my temperature back up.
Ahhh, the beauty of the North Atlantic...
